A Shreveport woman who died in the hospital following a shooting early Tuesday has been identified by the Caddo Coroner's Office.
Sherita Layton, 38, was one of three people injured during a shooting in the 400 block of Pete Harris Drive in the early morning hours. The Shreveport Fire Department took her to Ochsner LSU Health, where she died at 1:07 a.m.
A resident of the 1800 block of Saint John Street, Layton was shot along with another man outside the Session Levingston Motel in Allendale. A third victim was driving nearby and suffered a non-life-threatening injury that allowed him to drive himself to the hospital.
